About Me

Hi! I’m a 70-year old woman who decided it was not too late to change my life.

If you are here because you think you’re “too old”, “too broken” or “too far gone”, I’m glad you found your way here.

You are not alone, and you are not finished!

The Beginning

I started my health and fitness journey August 16, 2023- not because I was trying to chase a number on a scale, but because I wanted to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable in my own body.

My Starting Point

I am 5’3” and when I started my journey, I weighed 185 pounds, living with chronic health conditions, and honestly unsure of what my body could still do at this stage of my life.

What I did know……

I WASN’T DONE YET!

My Transformation

Age 67

  • I weighed 185 pounds, size 16
  • I had been this weight most of my adult life
  • I am an insulin-dependent type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure

Age 70

  • I weigh 125 pounds, size 6
  • I have built a considerable amount of muscle
  • I move through this world with more strength and confidence than I have in years
  • I have reduced my blood pressure medications 3 times. I take half the insulin that I used to take, and my endocrinologist fired me! She told me that my diabetes was so controlled that I no longer need a specialist. My PCP is in charge!

How it Happened

My transformation didn’t come from perfection, extremes, or quick fixes. It came from consistency, patience, learning, setbacks, and showing up even on the days I didn’t feel like it.

This blog isn’t about being flawless or following a one-size-fits-all plan.

This blog is about:

Learning how to build strength later in life

Letting go of the idea that aging means decline

Navigating fitness with chronic health conditions

Proving – especially to ourselves – that change is possible
